First a bit about me
Hi, my name is Frances Perry, I am currently a film student in Orlando, Florida. I was born and raised on a Sailboat, so I often take my inspiration from the natural world. I draw on the side of regular 'work' to relieve stress and give myself the opportunity to be creative with little to no strings attached. My favorite color is rainbow, I like long walks on the beach...bla bla blaaaah. Okay, enough about me. Let's get on to some questions!

Q: 001. How long have you been drawing?
A: Honestly? I can't really give you a specific date....Just, ever since I can remember. My mother was a painter/stay at home mom and my inspiration mostly came from her sitting me up next to her as she would illustrate children's novels. I've had no formal schooling except for the mandatory art classes that everyone gets while in school.

Q: 002. What do you usually use to draw with?
A: Wacom Intuos4 Tablet and Adobe Photoshop CS5. Though lately I've taken a liking to pencils for my sketching phase.

Q: 003. Do you take requests, art trades, and/or commissions?
A:  Well, automatically I'll say that requests and art trades are restricted to close friends. However, if it's an insane enough idea...I might just run with it. But please, Im tired of drawing everyone's OC's for free so if that's what you are looking for, Commissions are a guarantee. They are indeed currently opened and will be for awhile.

Q: 004. Can you teach me how to draw? Oh please say you will!
A:  Ah boy.. I've had this asked of me from both in real life and online. As any artist will you tell you, learning how to draw well takes time. However there are plenty of tutorials out there to help you out. I've made a few myself, and the fantastic group here on DA Gakkou-Houjin can be of even more help.

Q: 005.  How long does it usually take for you to finish an art piece?
A:  Forever. When it comes to drawing, I am the slowest thing in existence. Even the simplest of tasks can take hours, upon weeks, to years for me to finish anything. If I'm being paid, It's another story. Money seems to be a fantastic motivator. If I stay dedicated it should take only a few days depending on the piece and if I'm busy with life stuff's too much.

Summer Vacation

So, hooray. I'm...free. Sort of. I will be working on a bunch of film projects over the summer (if you have your own film projects feel free to invite me. I love the experience), but other than that I seem to find myself with some free time.

To kick things off on this glorious rainy Sunday, I will be hosting Livestream later today (Around 4-4:30pm EST Ill update my post when Im ready to let you know). Do make sure to join me I will be finishing up some commissions and throwing around ideas for a new art project. I'd love to get some input! Plus I might feel in the mood for some PG MIC/webcam action. So if you have questions or whatever...that'd be a great time to ask.

Other than that...Im hanging in there. Working on a few cosplays and writing some movies. Can't wait to see you all there tonight!

HEART ATTACK!!!

Yea...I almost had one. My external hard drive got dropped/stepped on and the connector port got ripped apart. I died a bit inside thinking my data would be lost forever. Luckily, I'm smart and realized that it had an old dusty firewire port (thats geek talk for something mac's love and PC's find confusing).

Now the only part that sucks is that one computer (obviously the one I dont use, and its a PC go figure) has firewire, and it's only 400...and this things an 800 port. So I had to buy a special chord that cost a bajillion freaking dollars. I'm hoping if I get some more cash I can get a replacement for the adapter and be able to use it practically again... I guess what i'm trying to say is, it was broke, and now its limping, but alive....BUT at least I know my files are safe and...not....destroyed.

SO, thanks to those who have commissioned me, the money super-duper helped me save this. Thanks for your patience with me and almost loosing your files......So NOW, I really really would love to ask for anyone else who has the cash to spare to commission me. I promise, I wont loose your files ever...

The important thing is, that was not a purchase I was in any financial situation to make, and Im struggling for the cash at the moment. You get some fantastic art AND help a sister out! Please oh please look at what I have to offer. Links up top.

Edit: I swear, Im SO close to donating my liver or something....

So gave me this fantastic idea and the majority of the text below, but whatever.

She suggested we take a fellow Deviant under our wings for a while...and I think it sounds like a bunch of fun. With school ending next week, why not?

Now, I do a lot of livestreaming already giving out tips to any who ask. But it's always nice to have a little bit of one on one time, yes? So if any of you are interested. Note me in what you need help with, and for an hour next week I will show you how I draw and answer any questions.

For this you will need your own sketch .. something you are very proud of...and a Skype account. (If not we can work something out with livestream or even opencanvas 1.1). And i will teach you in Photoshop how I create my art.

So all you have to do is .. NOTE ME!... ^__^ and I will pick one of you. This will probably have to take place The week of May 1st, but I figure that gives you time to make a sketch, or find the one you'd like.
