Description

So here is a basic picture walk through of the wings I've been working on for a Morrigan cosplay.

Pretty neat eh?

It's all made out of foam, heavy gauge wire, some clay for the horns, and super glue....and of course paint/sealant....Pretty easy on the wallet but I think it turned out fan-TASTIC!

Feel free to ask me any questions!

Edit: Basic walkthrough: Used heavy gauge wire and bent it to my liking as can be seen in the first photo. Then I took 1 inch strips of crafty foam (the kind you get in sheets) and super glue to wrap the wire in like the second picture....so now it looks like wing bones, and it's all nice and smooth. Next I layed my wire structure down on some more craft foam, glued it, cut it out, and bent it to give some definition.....Finally I attached the little horns i made out of clay and took some puffy paint to fill in gaps/ give it some texture....then I sprayed it with some matte spray paint to seal everything, then painted it with my black/purple colors. I'm probably going to go back with an air brush and give it some highlights/lowlights.

I've used foam to build armor before so I just adapted it to making wings. I love foam, its so inexpensive but it turns out really great if you know what you're doing. Hope that helped.
